Visual Movement from One piece
The focal point is shown in the middle of the image which is where both swords collide with each other. It shows some sort of depth which narrows down to the subject which is the main focus of the visual movement. There are also negative space at the edges of the scene which had been filled up with words and symbols such as exclamation mark. The use of shapes upon the centre of the image creates a visual movement that shows the impact of the force that is applied on the swords from the characters.

Project 2 : Decisive Moment
We have to come out with an animated GIF based on a decisive moment in a chosen movie or any films. I chose the movie Lord of the Rings as this is one of my favorite movie.

Gandalf : "I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor..."
"The dark fire will not avail you Flame of Urdun!"
"Go back to the shadow!"
"You-shall not -pass!"
-Lord of the Rings
Initially I cannot decide on what I wanted to draw. I wanted to make scenes in frozen but then I feel like making something fantasy like Lord of the Rings. I did think of doing that but I was afraid it would be difficult to make it. In the end I took the challenge and manage to finish my gif. I was not easy after all.
Reflection
Idea Exploration & Visual Research :

I don't have an idea of how to draw this scene therefore I done some research online looking at artworks of this scene from people online. I found a lot of amazing drawings, however I list down my three favorite images that I wanted to work on and choose one of them. (shown in figure 1.1)

Figure 1.2 Tracing using pen tool
I then started off with tracing the image of the scene that I wanted using pen tool and shapes tool.

Figure 1.3 Making Flame using Paintbrush tool
I use paintbrush tool for making flames behind balrog by using three different colors, red, orange and yellow. I lower the opacity so that it will blend well with the background.

Figure 1.4 Insert flame image
In order to make the flame more realistic, I insert an image of flame into the background so that it look like there is a shadow of flame. This can create an effect of fire burning as well.

Figure 1.5 Duplicate Artboard
After everything is done and set in order, I duplicate the artboard and make the light of Gandalf's wand bigger.

Lastly, I load the files into Adobe Photoshop to create my animation gif and make further adjustments.
